Patrick Hampton serves as a wine pourer at the Sixth Annual Tool Box Bash. He has been an important member of Habitat's Tool Box Bash committee for many years.
Q & A with Habitat Hero Patrick Hampton
1. How long have you lived in Memphis? Lifelong Memphian.
2. How long have you volunteered with Habitat? About eight years.
3. How did you get involved with Habitat? Initially through a friend who was a member of the Habitat board of directors.
4. What kind of activities have you participated in during your time as a volunteer? Well, I worked on a build site several years ago and have been involved mostly with special events. Hope to work on the builds in 2010.
5. Why do you volunteer your time with Habitat? Working in the nonprofit industry, I understand and appreciate the value volunteers bring to an organization. I believe in Habitat’s mission and I try to give back to my community, in whatever ways I can.
6. Do you have a favorite Habitat moment you would like to share?
No favorite moment but I would like to say how honored I am to be recognized by the True Heroes – the Habitat staff who work tirelessly to improve lives and provide decent, affordable housing for those in need in our community.
7. Do you have any personal details you would like to add? I work for a local nonprofit organization, Youth Villages, and I enjoy reading (a little) and traveling (a lot).
