Q & A with Habitat Hero Tracy Lawson
1. How long have you lived in Memphis? Nine years.
2. How long have you volunteered with Habitat? Six years.
3. How did you get involved with Habitat? Through a former employer, Hilton Hotels Corporation.
4. What kind of activities have you participated in during your time as a volunteer? Soup to nuts (I’ve attended kick-off meetings, worked day-one of a stick build, raised walls, wrapped houses, installed windows, hammered, caulked, painted, measured, cut, cleaned, fed, watered, organized, provided QUAT services, and helped with dedications). I’ve also volunteered during the Car Show.
5. Why do you volunteer your time with Habitat? It's rewarding, working with good people for a good cause. And, it’s fun.
6. Do you have a favorite Habitat moment you would like to share? Habitat build sites are such a departure from my ‘normal’ existence that I am privileged to be allowed to share in the experience.
