Volunteering with Habitat

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis. Volunteers are the essence of Habitat, and we appreciate your willingness to help us in this important ministry. 

We have a number of volunteer opportunities available, including:

Construction:  Volunteers are needed to help construct Habitat homes during semi-annual building blitzes. The construction committee meets at 6pm on the second Tuesday of every month (except during building blitzes) at the Habitat office.

Committees: Committees provide support for all major programs at Habitat. Some of the most active committees are as follows: construction, site selection, family services, special events, volunteer, development and Youth United.

Special Events:  Volunteers assist with planning and organizing special events such as the Exotic Italian Car Show and the Tool Box Bash.  

Youth United: Young volunteers plan fundraisers, awareness events and organize fellow youth volunteers in preparation for the annual Youth Build. YU’s goal is for youths (aged 5 to 25) to sponsor their own Habitat house every spring.

Volunteers who exemplify the values of the organization and promote them in their daily lives are eligible to be nominated as a Habitat Hero. For more information about Habitat Hero, please click here.
