Volunteering with Habitat

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis. Volunteers are the essence of Habitat, and we appreciate your willingness to help us in this important ministry. 

Memphis Habitat has many great ways to get involved. We have several volunteer opportunities listed below for those interested in construction and for those who are interested in retail, volunteer support, committees and events.

Construction: Volunteers are needed to help construct Habitat homes during semi-annual building blitzes. The construction committee meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month (except during building blitzes) at the Habitat office.

Committees: Committees provide support for all major programs at Habitat. Some of the most active committees are as follows: construction, family services, special events, volunteer, development, sponsorship and Youth United.

Special Events: Volunteers assist with planning and organizing special events such as the Tool Box Bash.  

Youth United: Young volunteers plan fundraisers, awareness events and organize fellow youth volunteers in preparation for the annual Youth Build. YU’s goal is for youth (aged 5 to 25) to sponsor their own Habitat house every spring.

ReStore: Volunteers assist with inventory, product stocking, pricing, cleaning and sales.
