Committee Leadership Roles and Meetings

"Youth United has created leaders within its group that will become the leaders of the future. YU is completely run by the members of the club. We have amazing supervisors that help us along the path, but let us take charge. The committee members organize all of our successful events, such as the Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments and Battle of the Bands. With Youth United, we have the chance to step up and make our voices heard. It is one place that we can all go to and feel like we're making a difference and taking action, and not just sitting on the sidelines. In addition to fundraising and volunteer needs, Youth United is also seeking hardworking youths of all ages to fill committee leadership roles. Effective September 1, all YU committee meetings will take place at the offices of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis at 7136 Winchester Road Memphis, TN 38125 (385 at Riverdale). All meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. Committee meetings are open to members 12-25 who are interested to serving in a leadership role with YU. Leadership roles include school/church/group representatives, subcommittee members and committee members. Youth in these positions are encouraged to attend as many committee meetings as possible. Youth interested in working on one or more of the YU Youth Build days must contact Crystel. Schools, churches and groups who have pledged fundraising support for the Youth United Build will get top priority on days and shifts. Groups may pledge money until the first week of December (unless the group has received special approval from Habitat staff). All donations are due in May.
