How to apply for Aging In Place

How do I apply?

Applications are administered over the phone. Due to the limited number of slots for this application period, we will NOT accept any walk-in applications. ALL applications must go through the AIP hotline. Habitat will stop accepting application calls as soon as the available slots have been filled. There is a tight timeframe for a limited number of applicants to be accepted and work to be completed, so applicants must have all documentation available immediately and will be accepted on a first-come, first-qualified, first-served basis.

To apply to the AIP program

  1. Call the AIP hotline at 901-322-3500 starting at 9 a.m. on the application date.
  2. Leave a message with your name, address and phone number to be added to our application call-back list.
  3. Receive a call back from Habitat to complete an application over the phone. Habitat will call you to complete an application and arrange to obtain your identity documentation. (Hearing impaired applicants may complete applications in person.) Again, there is an extremely tight timeframe for a limited number of applicants to be accepted and work to be completed, so applicants must have all documentation available immediately and will be accepted on a first-come, first-qualified, first-served basis.

Please continue to check our website and the AIP hotline for updates on future application dates.

If you are eligible, we will schedule an inspection of your home. If the inspection determines your repair needs fall within the program’s services and budget, you will be officially accepted into the program. Homes that cannot be brought to safe, habitable conditions within the program’s limits will not be eligible for assistance.
