Event Coincides with Conclusion of Habitat’s Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project with Redbirds Donating Portion of Select Ticket Sales; Team Wearing Special Jerseys to be Auctioned; Special Post-Game Fireworks
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis and the Memphis Redbirds have joined forces to hold “Habitat for Humanity Night” at AutoZone Park on Friday, Aug. 26, alongside the Redbirds’ game against the Nashville Sounds at 7:05 p.m. A special fireworks display will take place after the game.
The evening coincides with the conclusion of Habitat for Humanity’s 2016 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, which will be held in Memphis that week. The Redbirds will donate $4 from every individual Club Level, Dugout and Field Box ticket purchased to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis to assist with their mission in the area.
In addition, the Redbirds will be wearing special Habitat-themed jerseys during the game, which will be auctioned off at the game with net proceeds going toward Memphis Habitat. Fans winning a jersey in the auction will be brought down to the field after the game to meet the player, receive an autograph on the jersey and take a picture to commemorate the occasion.
Volunteers for the project will enjoy a private closing ceremony at AutoZone Park prior to the game. Fans with tickets to that night’s game can enter the park starting at 4 p.m. to watch the 5:15 p.m. ceremony on the video board from the main seating area.
