Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis invites
the community to “huddle up” for its 12th annual HOME TEAM HUDDLE
fundraising event on Sunday, Feb. 7, during professional football’s biggest
game of the year.
HOME TEAM HUDDLE participants
are asked to host fundraising parties and collect donations for Memphis Habitat during halftime. Individual
party hosts and guests will become eligible for HOME TEAM HUDDLE’s grand prize
getaway for two. This getaway includes two tickets to the NFL regular season game
of the winner’s choice, a two-night Homewood Suites by Hilton stay from Hilton
Worldwide and airfare.
Proceeds from HOME TEAM
HUDDLE go directly to Memphis Habitat to help the organization empower local
residents to build strength, stability and self-reliance through housing.
“For many people, the big
game is about more than football; it’s about gathering together with family and
friends, often in someone’s home,” said Dwayne Spencer, president & CEO of
Memphis Habitat. “This year, we encourage Memphians to continue that tradition
and host parties that will help more Memphis-area families build or improve
places they can call home. Plus, all guests and hosts are eligible to win the
grand prize trip!”
HOME TEAM HUDDLE parties can
also be hosted in businesses, schools or houses of worship in the week leading
up to the game.
“It’s a great opportunity for
team-building and fellowship and can be as simple as a potluck lunch or a
‘spirit day’ where employees make a donation so they can wear jeans or their
favorite teams’ gear,” Spencer said. “With HOME TEAM HUDDLE, it’s easy for
anyone to get in the game for Habitat.”
Party hosts who sign up by
noon Thursday, Feb. 4 can receive a HOME TEAM Party Pack to help promote and
encourage participation during the parties. The pack includes a HOME TEAM
HUDDLE T-shirt, a collection envelope and supplies for hosts to help build
excitement around their parties. Those who are unable to host a party but want
to contribute can also donate online at MemphisHabitat.com.
