Memphis Veteran Receives New Roof Installed by Republic Roofing & Restoration

Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project Gives Back to U.S. Military Veterans

Memphis, Tenn., May 14, 2019 – Owens Corning Platinum Contractors are working with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis to provide new roofs to veterans in need and their families as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Veteran Clifton Boykin will receive a new roof on Thursday, May 16, from Republic Roofing & Restoration, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Contractor. This nationwide effort is a way to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Since the inception of the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project in 2016, more than 120 military members have received new roofs.

“It’s a privilege to us to be able to repay Clifton for all his has done to serve our country and we couldn’t be more grateful for veterans like him,” said Michael Ward, Owner of Republic Roofing & Restoration. “We want Clifton to know how thankful we are for his service and let him know we appreciate all he’s done.”

Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, along with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families throughout the country. Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, Clifton Boykin was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

"It’s really special to see local businesses give back to the community in such a big and impactful way," said Shannon Morgan, Senior Programs Manager, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis. “At Habitat, we believe everyone deserves a decent place to live, and we are proud to partner with the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project and Republic Roofing & Restoration to help Clifton improve his home.”
