In celebration of our 30th anniversary in 2013, Memphis Habitat commissioned an economic impact study, and what we learned from that study was nothing short of incredible. Habitat's impact - the impact of the support of our donors, sponsors, volunteers and other supporters - echoes throughout the local economy. Since Memphis Habitat’s founding in 1983, our organization has had more than $100 million in cumulative economic impact. That’s $100 MILLION!

What begins as an effort to help one family secure decent, affordable housing becomes so much more. Habitat’s work creates property taxpayers; provides jobs for suppliers, vendors and subcontractors; puts homes on formerly vacant or abandoned lots; and – most importantly – makes sustainable homeownership possible for hardworking families.

View highlights from our study and homeowner surveys. We encourage you to read it and be proud of the amazing work YOU have helped make possible.

And, we welcome any deeper discussion. Please feel free to reach out to Dwayne Spencer, president and CEO of Memphis Habitat, at or 901-322-3505 with questions or to set up a meeting. We would love to give you a tour of our most recent projects in Uptown so you can see our work first-hand.

Equal Housing Opportunity

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of the U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin.
