The Volunteer Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategy focused on the recruitment, training, recognition, and retention of volunteers for all programs. This position will manage volunteer groups, champion relationships, and grow existing partnerships.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Manages all aspects of the Habitat volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, communication, and recognition for housebuilding, theme builds, ReStore, Rock the Block, and special events.
· Develops and manages the volunteer registration process/system.
· Develops and manages the volunteer orientation and training process for the Habitat ReStore and Construction-related activities.
· Manages ReStore partnerships with community and alternative work programs.
· Works alongside Construction and ReStore staff as key liaison with Volunteer Leader Committee.
· Speaks to current and potential volunteer groups to promote the mission of Habitat.
· Collaborates with Development Manager to cultivate sponsor relationships and ensure a superior volunteer experience.
· Collaborates with Development Coordinator on volunteer project logistics, including lunches, ice, tents and other items.
· Occasionally leads volunteer groups in the ReStore as needed to support store staff.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience or 5 years of experience in volunteer engagement/coordination, recruitment, training, customer service, or related field required.
· Volunteer registration/donor database experience preferred. Salesforce and Volunteer Hub experience a plus.
· Superior organizational and time management skills required.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Experience with social media, photography, the Adobe suite, or other design/video production software a plus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, based on the needs of the business. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
