At 49 years old, Cedric, a proud U.S. veteran, is achieving something he’s dreamed of for years – owning his very first home.
Before partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, Cedric was living in an unsafe two-bedroom apartment. The constant noise from neighbors and the need to keep quiet himself made it hard to feel truly at peace. It was far from the stability he deserved.
But Cedric didn’t give up.
He committed to the Memphis Habitat program, completing homebuyer education courses, saving for a down payment and emergency fund, and volunteering alongside our team to give back to the community.
Today, thanks to your support, Cedric is the proud owner of a brand-new three-bedroom, two-bath home, purchased with a 0% interest mortgage. He finally has a safe, quiet place to call his own.
What is he most excited about?
Hosting family gatherings and inviting his grandson over, where they can laugh and play video games as loudly as they want, without worrying about disturbing anyone.
