Memphis Habitat Hosts Women Build Luncheon Featuring Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis and Carmeon Hamilton

MEMPHIS, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis hosted our annual Women Build Luncheon on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. This year’s event featured a fireside chat with Jasmine Guy and Dawnn Lewis, known for their iconic roles in the beloved sitcom A Different World. The conversation was moderated by Carmeon Hamilton, a Memphis-based interior designer, winner of HGTV’s Design Star: Next Gen, and star of Reno My Rental. Memphis Habitat extends sincere thanks to our presenting sponsor, First Horizon, for helping make this event possible. Proceeds from the event supported affordable, stable homeownership opportunities throughout the 901.

“At its heart, Women Build is about sisterhood. Bringing women together to lift each other up and create lasting change,” said Lori Humber, Chief Operating Officer of Memphis Habitat. “This luncheon is a celebration of that bond, featuring inspiring women like Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis, and Carmeon Hamilton joining the conversation. We want to honor the strength, resilience, and stability that women bring to their communities. Every woman has the power to make a difference in the 901.”

This event is a movement. It’s about women coming together to build homes, hope, and a better future for Memphis. Memphis Habitat celebrates the powerful friendships that form when women lift each other—at the table, on the build site, and in our communities.
